economy in texas is booming right now, thanks in large part to oil and being found in places like the eagle ford shale, permian basin. texas real estate's on fire and it's a great place to start a new business. very business friendly. no wonder that tcbi has rallied 23% in the past few years. a commercial bank operating in austin, dallas, ft. worth, houston, san antonio, which also does personal banking for wealthy professionals and entrepreneurs and they have a lending business as well. and that's where tcbi lends money to other banks so they can in turn originate mortgages. when the company reported back in october, tcbi missed estimates by three cents off a 77 cent basis. but the underlying metrics were so strong, people saw through that. growing 10% year-over-year. total deposits up 33%, pretty staggering, stock jumped 12.4% the next day. bank's on fire. let's check in with george jones. he's the ceo of texas capital bank shares, learn more about where his company's headed. mr. jones, welcome to "mad money." how are you, sir? great to see you, sir. have a seat. how do you grow organical

we've been talking about some of those eagle eyed investors now watching what the dollar trade is. traderers were saying we were trapped in the range for most of the week. and the focus and direction will come today when that hits the tape. so far, we are seeing a drift off that euro/dollar trade. perhaps this shows us the direction of sentiment already because it was a very strong pop yesterday on the euro after mario draghi continued to juggle those policy tools out there. so 1.3669 for the dollar/yen rate. 103 was the level. 102 is the handle right now. we had the autumn statement by the chancellor yesterday showing us the momentum really is behind growth here. so we are holding currently, but this may all change as we get that jobs print coming out stronger than expected. the australian dollar has been under enormous pressure. 90.5 is the level we're seeing on the boards. back to you in the studio. >>> coming up, becky isn't the only one who fears the iphone's wax of the keyboard. could ryan seacrest have a solution for her? we'll find out unbelievable. he's nfl, he's "american

this week, we've been talking about people lowering the guidance, happening with big lots, american eagle, five below, below consensus. and you can see what's going on four retail. this is what the stocks have been doing this week. so it's been a very, very ugly week for certain retailers out there. let's look at where we stand in terms of the economy. good numbers on the jobs report. q3 gdp was better than expected. some of it was inventory building. auto sales were pretty good. highest in six years. home sales in october best since 2008. the ism manufacturing is the best in two years and cyber monday up 20%. but there are balancing issues here. ism services were a disappointment. the september home sales were disappointing and we talked about how the retail sales reports have been somewhat disappointing. all in all, guys, the bottom line is, slow improvement in the economy offset by some disappointments, like what's going on in retail. enough to argue, however, slow, slow improvement and the stock market is reflecting that right now. guys, back to you. >> all right, bob, thank you so mu
